Well, it’s now ten months into the shit-show that is 2020, and COVID-19 is still the biggest news story around. Lockdowns and travel bans are still in place around the world, even though studies repeatedly show the ‘deadly’ virus is in fact very benign. While infection fatality rate estimates continue to decline, mental illness, domestic violence, self-harm and suicide are all on the rise.

Along with carb-paranoia and veganism, one of the more popular diet trends in recent times is “intermittent fasting” (IF). Long time readers will know the concept leaves me cold; the research to back all the lavish claims made for IF simply doesn’t exist. More research has emerged indicating IF is not all it’s cracked up to be, in the form of a recent randomized clinical trial that studied the effect of IF in middle-aged participants.

Shady research reports are claiming COVID-19 strips an average of 12-17 years of life from sufferers. This is a blatant lie. In reality, the data shows people with COVID-19 are living every bit as long – if not longer – than people without it.

Well over 99% of people who become infected with COVID-19 will not die, and most won’t even develop symptoms.
